By accessing and using ChapterFast ("Service"), including our website at chapterfast.com and our Chrome browser extension, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this Service.

2. Description of Service

ChapterFast provides an AI-powered platform for generating YouTube video chapters. Our Service includes:

  • Web application for generating chapters from YouTube video URLs
  • Chrome browser extension for generating chapters directly in YouTube Studio
  • Multiple chapter generation modes (Auto-detect, SEO, Educational, Storytelling, Podcast, Review, Streaming)
  • Chapter history and management features

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Credits and Payment

ChapterFast operates on a credit-based system. By purchasing credits, you agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees as described in our pricing
  • Provide accurate billing information
  • Understand that credits are consumed when chapters are generated
  • Acknowledge that unused credits do not expire

Refund Policy: Credit purchases are generally non-refundable. If you experience technical issues that prevent chapter generation, please contact support for assistance.

Free Credits: New accounts may receive free credits for trial purposes. These credits are subject to the same terms as purchased credits.

5. Chrome Extension Terms

By installing and using the ChapterFast Chrome extension, you additionally agree to:

  • Grant the extension permission to access YouTube Studio pages for the purpose of chapter generation
  • Allow the extension to read authentication cookies to verify your ChapterFast account
  • Understand that the extension only operates on YouTube Studio video edit pages
  • Accept that generated chapters will be inserted into your video description when you click the generate button

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for videos you do not own or have rights to
  • Generate chapters for content that violates YouTube's terms
  • Attempt to circumvent credit requirements or abuse free trials
  • Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal use
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the Service
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to generate misleading or deceptive chapters
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers

7. AI-Generated Content

ChapterFast uses artificial intelligence to generate chapter suggestions. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated chapters are suggestions and should be reviewed before use
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of generated chapters
  • You are responsible for reviewing and editing chapters before publishing
  • Generated chapters may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies

8. Intellectual Property

Our Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ChapterFast and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain ownership of your YouTube videos and any chapters you create or modify. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to process your video transcripts solely for generating chapters.

9. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services including YouTube and AI providers. Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability or functionality of third-party services.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING:

  • That the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • That generated chapters will be accurate or suitable
  • That the Service will meet your specific requirements

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHAPTERFAST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Loss of data or content
  • Inaccurate chapter generation
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Any issues arising from third-party service integrations

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChapterFast and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits are non-refundable upon termination for Terms violations.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good faith negotiation or, if necessary, through appropriate legal channels.
